Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

An Extraction is a type of oral surgery that is performed to remove a decayed or severely damaged tooth that cannot be saved. It may also be performed to relieve the crowding of teeth. While some extractions can be performed without surgery, more complicated cases (for example, in the case of an impacted tooth) may require surgical extraction.

Cyst Removal is the surgical removal of a cyst from the mouth.

Oral Cancer Detection involves the removal and testing of growth in the mouth for the possible presence of cancer cells.

Skin Grafting is the process in which a portion of skin is transplanted in order to repair a defect or injury. Cleft lip surgery is an example of surgery that requires a skin graft.

Maxillofacial Surgery addresses the effects of diseases, injuries and defects that affect the way the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, jaws and face function and look.
